Click HyperStudio on the Launcher. (It should be located under MultiMedia
Tools).

Click
on the button that reads New
Stack.

Click on Yes. (Yes,
you want to leave the Home Stack now).

Click OK after you read the message.

Click on the word Tools at the top of the screen. Drag the tool bar
somewhere on the card.

Click on the paint can in the tool bar. Choose a color from the Color
menu at the top of the screen and
click on it.

Click
on the white card now. This will paint the background. ****Save your work periodically by highlighting Save
Stack As.

Click on Objects and Add a Text Object.

Read the message and click OK.
-
Click in the middle of the box and drag
it to a spot on the card. The
text box can be resized now or at any time.

Click outside of the box and a Text
Appearance menu will appear.

Click on the checkmarks in the Draw
Scroll Bar, Scrollable, or Draw
Frame if you do not want these
options.

Click on Style in the lower left hand corner. This will open the Text
Style menu.

Choose a font and size
that is easy to read. You
can also change
your text and background colors.

Where you see the align box use your mouse to highlight Left,
Center, or Right. alignment.

Click OK. Click OK
again. You should now be back to
your first card.

Make sure the hand is highlighted
in the tool menu and then type in
your text. You can adjust the size
of your text box by highlighting
the cursor in the tool menu and then clicking on the
box. Now drag the mouse to a
corner of the box until you see
an arrow. Resize.

Click on Objects and Add a Button. A Button Appearance menu
will appear. Delete New Button in
the Name box. Leave this
blank. Choose a background color
for your button and click
OK.

Click
inside the button and drag it to a location on the card. Click outside
the button. Click Another
Card and
then press the Apple
key and N for a new card.
Click on OK.

Choose a transition and
click OK. This shows you what the card will
do when you click on the button to go from one card to another. If you would like to add a sound to
your button click on
Play a sound, choose a sound (you
can record your own
voice too) and click OK.

Click on Done.

Make sure the hand is selected in the tool bar and click on your button. It should take you to card 2 now. Design card 2 by painting the
background first. Then add a text object
box and a button for card 3.

You may also add Clip Art to your
card. Highlight File--Add Clip Art. Unless
you have a video clip saved you will need to retrieve
the clip art from the Disk file. Click OK. Choose a category
and Open. Use the lasso tool to select the graphic and
click OK.

Graphics from other CDs or Internet can
also be pasted into your
HyperStudio stack using Edit--Copy and then Edit--Paste.
